Takes After Dad, Arnold, in Zombie Horror-Comedy ‘Scouts Guide’

Patrick Schwarzenegger Takes After Dad, Arnold, in Zombie Horror-Comedy ‘Scouts Guide’

Patrick Schwarzenegger is stepping into his father’s shoes and he’s wearing them pretty well.

The 22-year-old model and actor appears in the upcoming comedy-horror Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, which required plenty of time in the makeup chair, not dissimilar to Arnold’s experience for 1984’s The Terminator.

“It’s a pretty amazing experience to have them work on you for three, four hours and you come out with these huge gashes,” Patrick says in a behind-the-scenes clip.

ET was with Patrick’s father, Arnold, as he was being transformed into an indestructible cyborg.

“Because I am so good looking, they have to put extra work on my face to make me look ugly,” Arnold joked.

During an interview with ET in June, Arnold opened up about his son’s burgeoning career.

“My son is a little bit like me,” Arnold told ET while promoting Terminator Genisys. “He gets into this whole career thing and he wants to discover it himself, so I have minimum influence in a way.”

In Scouts Guide, three scouts prepare for their last camp-out but learn the true meaning of survival when a zombie outbreak disrupts their plans. Patrick describes his character as an ” alpha male.”

“He’s kind of mischievous and up to no good,” Patrick said. “Everything goes awry with an attack of zombies.”

Patrick Schwarzenegger joins Scream Queens

Patrick Schwarzenegger is the latest actor to join the Scream Queens cast, show creator Ryan Murphy announced on Twitter Friday.

Schwarzenegger, the son of Arnold and Maria Shriver, has previously appeared in movies including 2012’s Stuck in Love and 2013’s Grown Ups 2. This role marks his major television debut.

Scream Queens, a horror-comedy anthology series similar in structure to Murphy’s American Horror Story, also features Emma Roberts, Skyler Samuels, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, and Jamie Lee Curtis with Niecy Nash, Nick Jonas, and Ariana Grande credited as guest stars. Murphy didn’t specify what kind of role Schwarzenegger will have.

Watch Scream Queens when it premieres on Fox Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. ET.
